Term 4 Week 5 of 11 (Copy)

Friday, 7th November 2025

Message from the Principal

As we look ahead to an exciting and enriching 2026, I want to take a moment to share some key dates that will help you plan for the year ahead. We encourage all families to mark these dates and stay connected through our website, newsletter & instagram post  for regular updates and reminders.

There is an important change in how we communicate with you regarding camps, excursions, and any forms requiring a response.

Operoo will no longer be used from January 2026. We will be transitioning to nForma as our new platform for managing all school-related forms and permissions.

nForma will streamline communication and make it easier for families to respond to school notices and complete required documentation. This change is part of our ongoing commitment to improving efficiency and accessibility for our community.

What to expect:

  • All camp, excursion, and permission forms will be sent via nForma starting Term 1, 2026.

  • Instructions on how to log in and access your profile will be provided before the end of Term 4.

  • Support will be available to help families navigate the new system.

We appreciate your support as we make this transition and will ensure you have everything you need to get started smoothly.

Best wishes

Deputy Principal

Welcome to our 2026

Today we welcomed our 2026 Prep students on the first of four transition sessions. This is such a special and exciting time for our newest Resurrection superstars and their 2026 teachers. We welcome these students back on Friday 14th, Friday 21st and Friday 28th November where they will continue getting to know our wonderful school and begin to build relationships with each other and our staff. Our car park may be slightly busier on these mornings so thank you in advance for your patience and flexibility as those new families navigate our car park and processes. For those who are new to our school or are interested, please see our car park protocols with videos included on our Resurrection website.

Years 1-6 Transition Sessions

Our Years 1-6 Transition mornings are also fast approaching and will take place on in weeks 7 and 8 on:

Monday 17th November: 9:30am - 10:30am

Monday 24th November: 9:30am - 10:30am

Children should arrive at school at the regular 8:30am start time for a full day of school on these days. In these sessions, your child will meet their 2026 teacher, begin to familiarise themselves with their new learning space and their peers. Creating balanced class groups is like forming a diverse group of around 26 students, each with unique experiences, skills, and abilities. We consider each student’s personality, talents, and social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs and strengths. Although this task is complex, your input, understanding and support is much appreciated.

Our teachers and executive leadership team are developing the 2026 student lists, assigning teachers to classes, and allocating LSOs across the school.

SUNDAY GOSPEL

Thirty First Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year C

We Reflect

The story is composed of two parts, Jesus' action in the Temple and Jesus' predictions about the Temple's destruction. The time of year is the sacred feast of Passover. If the many pilgrims to Jerusalem during Passover were to have animals for the sacrificial rituals of the feast, it was necessary to sell cattle in the Temple and to change the unclean Roman money. By denouncing this, Jesus is cutting to the core of the Temple cult.

The story is really about Jesus' fate, not the Temple's fate, revealing that Jesus, not the Temple, is the locus of God's presence on earth. As they often do in John, the Jews misunderstand Jesus' words. This gives John the chance to explicitly state his point. Although this is the beginning of his ministry, Jesus is already speaking of his coming death and Resurrection.

John intentionally integrates a post-Resurrection perspective into the Gospel narrative. The statement that concludes this passage uses the fact of the Resurrection to prove the point of Jesus' words. Believers need to remember the words and actions of Jesus and claim them as affirmations of the truths of their faith.

Christians sometimes point to Jesus' anger in this passage as a way to point out Jesus' humanity. But this would miss the powerful point of the entire Gospel, that the Word became flesh. The point is not that Jesus' anger proves he is human. It is that a human being, in his words and actions, can claim the authority of God.

We read                                          John 2: 13 - 22

Since the Passover of the Jews was near,

Jesus went up to Jerusalem. He found in the temple area those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, as well as the money-changers seated there.

He made a whip out of cords and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen, and spilled the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables,

and to those who sold doves he said,

"Take these out of here, and stop making my Father's house a marketplace."

His disciples recalled the words of Scripture, Zeal for your house will consume me.

At this the Jews answered and said to him, "What sign can you show us for doing this?"

Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up."

The Jews said, "This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, and you will raise it up in three days?"

But he was speaking about the temple of his Body.

Therefore, when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they came to believe the Scripture and the word Jesus had spoken.

Parish News

Uganda Partnership

Christmas is a season of giving, and few gifts are as life changing as the gift of education. Resurrection Parish supports the secondary education of boys and girls in Buyaga, a rural, under-resourced community in Uganda.

Through our sponsorship program, a contribution of just $10 per month for 12 months provides one student with access to education for an entire year.

If you would like to make a difference this Christmas by giving the gift of learning, please contact the Parish office at 7064 3920 or email kingspark@cam.org.au.
