FOR PARENTS: SCHOOL ATTENDANCE

At Resurrection, we are committed to providing your child with an excellent education. A key foundation of academic success is consistent, daily attendance.

Regular attendance is vital—missing even a few days can significantly affect your child’s learning and future opportunities. There is no safe number of days to miss; every day counts.

We strongly discourage families from taking holidays during the school term. Please plan any travel during the school holiday periods. If unavoidable, we encourage scheduling term-time holidays as close as possible to the end-of-term breaks. The school does not provide school work while on holiday during the school term.

If your child must miss school due to extended leave other than family holidays:

  • Please inform both the school office and your child’s class teacher in advance, providing details of the leave in writing

  • The teacher, in consultation with the Learning & Teaching team, will prepare an Extended Learning Plan. Parents are responsible for ensuring this plan is followed during the absence (Please note: The Extended Learning Plan is designed to support your child’s learning but cannot replace the rich, face-to-face experiences that occur in the classroom every day. This is for exceptional circumstances only and at the discretion of the leadership team.

If your child is absent for any reason:

  • Parents must notify the school via the absentee line at 03 8312 6312, option 1

Thank you for partnering with us in prioritising your child’s attendance and education.
