LEARNING & TEACHING: LITERACY

At Resurrection Primary School, we believe that literacy is the foundation of all learning. A strong literacy education empowers students to read, write, speak, and listen with confidence, enabling them to engage meaningfully with the world around them.

Guided by the Victorian Curriculum

Our Literacy program is designed in alignment with the Victorian Curriculum: English, which outlines the essential skills and knowledge students need in three key strands:

  1. Reading and Viewing – understanding, interpreting, and responding to a range of texts

  2. Writing – expressing ideas through structure, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and vocabulary

  3. Speaking and Listening – communicating effectively in a variety of contexts

These strands are interconnected and taught through engaging, evidence-based programs that respond to the needs of every learner.
