Message from the Principal
2026 School Captain Announcement!
We’re super excited to announce our Grade 6 School Captains for 2025!
After some amazing speeches and a big student vote, we are happy to announce that Parker and Emma are our 2026 School Captains.
A huge congratulations to our captains — we know you’ll do a fantastic job leading with respect, responsibility and resilience!
And a big congratulations and acknowledgement must go to all the students who took part in the election. Your speeches, ideas, and confidence made us all proud to know that we have so many capable and future leaders at Resurrection!
A reminder to our students applying for House Captains, speeches will be held this Friday!
We can’t wait to hear from all our amazing candidates — good luck to everyone.
Best wishes
Deputy Principal
School Closure Days

Reminder: The Semper Dental Van will be at school on Wednesday 5th November - Friday 7th November.
Year 1 and 2 Excursion to Bundoora Park Heritage Village
Our Year 1 and 2 students and staff will be heading off on their excursion on Friday 7th November. Please check your child’s Operoo form for finer details about the day. They will be exploring the past! This is a hands-on, curriculum-linked program where students explore life in the early 1900s through traditional games, farm tools, and old-fashioned household items. As well as a simulated classroom experience in an early 20th century rural school and participation in pioneer games. Please ensure that your child arrives at the usual 8:30am start time. Students will be dismissed at the regular time of 3:15pm.
2026 Prep Transition
We welcome our 2026 Prep students for their first of four transitions in Week 5 on Friday 7th November. This means the car park may be unusually busy on a Friday so please take this into consideration during drop off times. Afternoon pick up will not be impacted by this. Please welcome our incoming families to our wonderful school community!

World Teachers Day
Friday 31st of October
World Teachers’ Day is a special occasion to celebrate and appreciate the contributions of teachers to our lives and society. This day is dedicated to recognizing the hard work, dedication, and passion that teachers bring to shaping the minds and futures of their students.
Behind every successful student is a teacher who believed in them. Whether it’s sparking curiosity, nurturing creativity, or offering a listening ear, teachers leave an indelible mark on our lives.
Who was your favourite teacher when you were at school?
Here’s an opportunity to share some positive school stories around the dinner table.

Happy ‘All Hallows Eve’ (Oct 31)!
Today on the Feast of All Hallows Eve, we prepare for the upcoming days in which we celebrate LIGHT that conquers darkness, and that Jesus overcame death! We celebrate this through the Feasts of All Saints (Nov 1) and All Souls Day (Nov 2).
Some etymology: All Hallows Eve - secularly called ‘Halloween’, is the vigil before these important feasts. Hallow, which means ‘Holy’ is another term we use to refer to Saints. They are Holy people, and thus the day is also known as All Hallows Day. All Hallows Evening (e’en) is the day before which we prepare for through prayer and spiritual preparation.
Tips on how to celebrate the upcoming hallow days:
Attend Mass (Saturday 6pm, Sunday 9am and 10:30am at Resurrection!)
Learn about the Saints!
Dress as a saint!
Visit loved ones who have died
Offer prayers for those who have died
2026 Sacraments
Information regarding 2026 Sacraments have been distributed via email / Operoo.
Colour Explosion Fun Run
Earlier this term we had our annual Colour Explosion Fun Run and the school was filled with colour. It was so wonderful to see the students, teachers and parents around the school involved and having a wonderful time.
As a result of your wonderful fundraising efforts, we were able to raise $6,306 to go towards buying new school resources!
Prizes have now been ordered and will be disturbed once they arrive at the school.
A big congratulations should go to the following students and classes who raised the most money!
SUNDAY GOSPEL
Thirty First Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year C
We Reflect
When I was young, the devotion to the Holy Souls was very popular. People offered Masses for the Holy Souls. On All Souls Day each Priest offered three Masses, people came in great numbers for the Masses, and they visited the Church often during the day to gain indulgences by their prayers.
Even today relatives have Mass offered for their loved ones on their anniversary, birthday, Christmas, and Easter.
Sadly, however, prayer for the Holy Souls is not as popular as in times past. If I were to ask what is the best thing you can do for a loved one who has died, what would you say? A funeral to talk about them? A nice grave and headstone? A tree, plant or a beautiful flower? Have a wonderful reception? Yes, all those things are nice, but the best gift is prayer because that is the only thing that can help them on their journey to the Lord.
I have put at the end of my will, “Please don’t spend time talking about me, spend time praying for me.” For it is a holy and wholesome thing to pray for the dead that they may be loosed from their sin.
Fr. Paddy
We read John 6:37-40
Jesus said to the crowds:
“Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me.
And this is the will of the one who sent me,
that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it on the last day. For this is the will of my Father,
that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life,
and I shall raise him on the last day.”

Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ!
Parish News
All Souls Day
This weekend, during all Masses, we will offer prayers for those who have passed away. After the entrance hymn, parishioners will be invited to come forward and place the names of their departed loved ones at the foot of the cross — a powerful symbol of our community joining together in prayer and remembrance
Rememberance Book
Our Remembrance Book holds the names of loved ones who have passed away, allowing us to keep them in our prayers, especially throughout the month of November. If there is someone you would like to include, you are warmly invited to add their name.
RCIC Program – Expressions of Interest
We are now inviting expressions of interest for the RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children) Program, which will commence early next year.
This program is designed for children seeking to receive the Sacraments of Initiation who have not yet been baptised or catechised in the Catholic faith.
More details will be shared in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you are interested in enrolling your child, please email your contact details to kingspark@cam.org.au
Mass Intention
If you would like to offer a Mass intention for a loved one, envelopes are available at the welcome desk and parish office.
Please complete the envelope with your preferred date and return it to the office. Your intention will be included in our parish Mass schedule.
