Message from the Principal

School Advisory Council (SAC) 2026

Explanation of School Advisory Council

The School Advisory Council is a group of parents that provide feedback and ideas about the school. This allows the principal and other leadership team members to get some insight into the school from a parent’s perspective. An example of this is getting parent feedback around our school reports.

At Resurrection our SAC also acts as a Parents and Friends groups that organises events such as the mothers and Father’s Day stall and our Easter and Christmas Raffle, often calling upon other parents to support.

All parents are welcome to nominate themselves for the SAC. It doesn't matter if you are new to the school or have been here for a long time.

The Resurrection staff that are on the SAC are:

Adrian Glasby- Principal

Matt Dalton- Deputy Principal

Marie Dorazio - Community and Wellbeing

A typical SAC has from around 5 to 8 parent members. With 8 being the maximum. The commitment for 2026 is one meeting per term. The meetings begin at 7pm and are finished by 8.30pm at the latest.

I’m asking for any parents  that are interested in being part of the SAC to email me at principal@rskingspark.catholic.edu.au nominating themselves with the heading  SAC and your name and the names and grades of your child/children in the main body of the email. Please do this by Friday February 27. I’m also requesting that existing members do this as well, to show that they still wish to be part of the SAC by re-nominating.

2026 Dates

  • Thursday March 5

  • Thursday May 21

  • Thursday August 20

Thursday November 12

Best wishes

Deputy Principal

Parent Teacher Interviews - Thank you!

What a wonderful opportunity to build connections and share important information about your child with their teacher. We thank you for making the time to attend an interview on Thursday

and appreciate your continued support in your child’s education.

Seesaw - Have you signed into your Seesaw account lately?

Seesaw is a digital learning platform that we use at Resurrection. It increases student engagement by allowing students to demonstrate learning through multimedia portfolios. It also acts as a bridge between home and school, providing teachers with tools to assign lessons, while families gain insight into what their child is learning about at school.

Family Curriculum Overviews

Keep an eye out for the Term 1 curriculum overviews for families which will be posted to Seesaw and the school website for your reference. This gives a great snapshot of what learning is taking place at school and even highlights some helpful tips for you to support learning at home. Special dates are also listed on the overview that are relevant to your child’s year level.

nForma forms

As you are aware, we have transitioned to a new platform. Nforma is now the only location where families can read and respond to important notes such as camps, excursions, incursions and special events.

If you haven’t logged into the nPortal app, please do so and respond to any outstanding items. We do not wish for any child to miss out on any excursions or learning opportunities!

If you are experiencing any difficulties, please contact the school office.

Wellbeing, Child Safety & Community Leader

REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS… Recent laws have banned Social Media for kids under 16

Here are some quick tips for supporting your child/ren during this time of change:

  1. Listen closely, and with empathy, to what they have to say.

  2. Don’t dismiss or minimise their feelings about the situation.

  3. Help them to practise acceptance by discussing what they can and can’t control.

  4. Encourage positive wellbeing behaviours such as exercise or journalling.

  5. Support them to build offline friendships to prevent isolation and loneliness.

  6. Find ways to spend positive time offline together as a family.

40 days of Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving

SUNDAY GOSPEL

1st Sunday of Lent - Year A

We Reflect

Strange as it may seem to us so soon after Advent and Christmas, but this is the first Sunday of Lent. On Ash Wednesday, we began our Lenten Pilgrimage with Jesus as we prepare to celebrate Easter. However, we have some way to go with Jesus and each other before we can experience the joy and new life of Easter.

Our gospel this Sunday sees Jesus being led into the desert. Why was Jesus led or driven in to the desert?

The desert in Jewish history is very important. When God freed and saved the People of Israel from slavery in Egypt, they spent forty years in the desert. They wandered and sometimes got lost as they tried to find their way to the Promised Land. This was not an easy journey for them. At times they lost faith in each other and in God. They forgot the promise that God made with them; ‘I will be your God and you will be my people.’  As they made their way through the desert, many would have stopped travelling and settled near the closest oasis or watering hole. Some others would have joined others tribes and religions that they met on along the way. Famously, when they were at their lowest, they made a statue of a golden calf and began to worship it. They had forgotten where they had come from, what God had done for them and lost sight of where God was leading them.

It is no surprise that we begin Lent with Jesus in the desert. Like his ancestors, he too is tried, tested and tempted. However, Jesus refused to give up or give in so quickly or so easily.

As we begin our own Lenten journey today, we need to recall and remember that we are not setting out on this journey on our own. God is with us walking by our side very step of way. When we are tempted, we need to follow the example of Jesus. He did not rely on his own strength. He turned to God and asked for help which he received. We will not be able to walk the Lenten journey on our own. We need to realise that like Jesus, we too need God’s help, support, guidance and protection. Whenever we feel tired or ready to give up or give in, we need to turn to God for encouragement. We know that God will be with us during Lent as God was with Jesus when he was in the desert. God will never leave us alone.

We Read            Matthew 4: 1 - 11

At that time Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.

He fasted for forty days and forty nights,

and afterwards he was hungry.

The tempter approached and said to him,

“If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become loaves of bread.”

He said in reply,

“It is written:

One does not live on bread alone,

but on every word that comes forth

from the mouth of God.”

Then the devil took him to the holy city,

and made him stand on the parapet of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down.

For it is written:

He will command his angels concerning you

and with their hands they will support you,

lest you dash your foot against a stone.”

Jesus answered him,

“Again it is written, You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test.”

Then the devil took him up to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in their magnificence, and he said to him, ""All these I shall give to you, if you will prostrate yourself and worship me.”

At this, Jesus said to him,

“Get away, Satan!

It is written: The Lord, your God, shall you worship and him alone shall you serve.”

Then the devil left him and, behold,

angels came and ministered to him.

The Gospel of the Lord

Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ!

Each day offers space to explore themes of longing, grace, surrender, the Cross, and the healing power of the present moment.
