Parent Involvement

Parental Involvement is welcomed at Resurrection School.  In fact, without the support of parents, many of the programs and opportunities we offer the children, would not be possible.

We challenge all families to think about the ways they can support our school during the year.  This involvement can take many forms:

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL:

The School Advisory Council gives parents the opportunity to contribute to the life of the school. All parents are welcome to attend meetings. While ouapproach is not formal, it works well for this community.

FUNDRAISING GROUP:

This group is an essential activity within our school community. The aims of this group are:

  • Create opportunities for people to help out, and at the same time, make friends
  • Raise funds which will go towards the running of the school as well as providing additional equipment etc. for the children.

BUILDING AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE:

Regular Working Bees take place throughout the year, and all parents are asked to help out on, at least, one occasion. End of term cleaning takes place four times a year.

 PARENT INVOLVEMENT IN CLASSROOMS:

All classes require parent help at different times for various classroom activities. This could involve working with small groups or individuals, or helping out with practical needs such as typing, or making aids. Other programs which depend on parental help include:

  • Excursions
  • Out ‘n About program: Prep to Six
  • Literacy Block
  • Maths Block

SPECIAL DAYS:

There are often occasions which gather the whole school together, and these are wonderful days for parents to be involved. Just a few examples are:

  • School Sports
  • Family Week
  • Whole School Activity Days
  • Book Week
  • Multicultural Day
  • School Concert.

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS:

There are many groups operating in the Parish and school, such as Playgroup, Aerobics Group, etc. These are great avenues for meeting people and becoming a part of the place.
